HTC EVO with Microsoft Online Services (MSOS) Exchange server

Today I have successfully configured my HTC EVO with Microsoft Online Services (MSOS) exchange server to sync emails, calender and contacts. Microsoft has provided the url https://red001.mail.microsoftonline.com for mobile configurations. (Again... these are the steps to configure EVO with Microsoft online services. Please consult your exchange administrator if you are using different exchange server)

1. Select the "Mail" option from "All apps" list

2. Select Menu ->More->New Account

3. Select Exchange ActiveSync Option.

4. Select the Manual setup

5. Enter your exchange email address. I have entered anoop@empressdigital.com

6. Enter the Server address (Exchange server name) as red001.mail.microsoftonline.com. By default, phone will take domain name from the email address but we have to replace that with red001.mail.microsoftonline.com

7. Leave the Domain (Exchange domain name) field blank.

8. Enter your complete email address as user name. I have typed anoop@empressdigital.com

9. Type your email password

10. Enable the option "This server requires and encrypted SSL connection"

11. Hit next

12. Select Mail, Contacts and Calender from Exchange ActiveSync settings and hit Finish Setup.

13 Now you can use different widgets and Apps to view your emails, contacts and calender.
